| For those of you who are still hanging around reading, or who may stumble across this post in the future, I wanted to say thank you! For what? For reading, encouraging and sharing in this frugal journey with me. I started this site earlier this year as a creative outlet following a difficult time. I believe that it has now served its purpose for me. So, I must announce, that with the baby coming, I am closing down The Homemakers Resource. It was a difficult decision, but one a long time coming. I love blogging and deal hunting, but I need to focus on the higher calling of mommying and wife-ing. I may come back some day, but for now, I must bid you all a fond farewell. It has been a fun ride. :-) |

So, this savings thing can be very confusing, but hopefully we can clarify the way Publix couponing policy works, in general, in Florida (where The Homemaker's Resource is based).
Publix is a multi-state company, and the "rules" in Florida are different than in the other states. However, be aware, that these guidelines may vary somewhat at an individual store.
Q. What types of coupons will Publix accept?
- Publix will accept both clipped coupons and internet printable coupons from reputable sites.
- You can use one manufacturer's coupon for each item. That means you can use two coupons for each Buy One Get One Deal.
- Yes, as long as the wording of the coupon does not prohibit doing so. In fact, this is a great way to get some HUGE savings. This means that if you are doing a BOGO deal, you can use up to 4 coupons (2 manufacturer's coupons and 2 Publix coupons).
- It means that if you get a dollars off coupon from another store, you can use it at Publix to get the same savings. In other words, the Coupon would be worded something like this: "Take $5 off your order of $50 or more" or "Take $1.00 off Tropicana Juice."
- The stores which your Publix considers to be competitors may not be the same as the stores other Publix stores accept coupons from. Ask as the customer service desk to know which coupons you can use at your store.
- For my local readers, most Publix stores in our area will accept coupons from Albertson's, Sweetbay Supermarket, and Walgreens.
- No. Publix stores do not price match.
- Publix stores in Florida do not double coupons. Stores in other states do.
- Not in Florida. Stores in other states may allow this, stores in Florida do not.
This is just a brief run-down of how Publix generally handles deals and coupons. Please leave me any questions you have, and I'll add to the Q&A!
